Our Watch has provided a submission on the Exposure Draft of the Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026. We recognise this Bill presents a significant opportunity for the primary prevention of violence against women.
Our submission is focused on Schedule 2 of the Exposure Draft. It recommends that the Bill strongly embeds primary prevention within the proposed Digital Duty of Care, and highlights opportunities to strengthen the Bill to prevent violence against women.
The submission also highlights other opportunities for the Commonwealth Government to embed primary prevention actions, that in conjunction with this legislation could increase its potential to prevent violence against women.
