Our Watch is seeking to partner with an individual LGBTIQA+ organisation or consortium with national reach to develop a new national primary prevention framework.

Through funding received from the Commonwealth Government Department of Social Services, Our Watch will lead the development of a new national primary prevention framework in partnership with a LGBTIQA+ organisation, to deepen understanding of the drivers of gender-based violence against LGBTIQA+ people and communities. This new framework will build upon and expand the existing evidence base to help guide prevention work at a national level.

This new framework will take an intersectional approach, recognising that heteronormativity and cisnormativity are core drivers of violence against LGBTIQA+ people alongside gender inequality, racism, ableism, and ageism.

While we are currently seeking a lead partner for the project, we intend to engage with LGBTIQA+ organisations and other key stakeholders through Project Advisory Group/s and a national consultation in 2024. Key dates

The indicative dates for delivery of this project is from 30 November 2023–30 June 2026. Initial scoping and foundational work for the project has been undertaken by Our Watch since January 2023.

• Applicant information session: 13 September 2023 (register by 12 September 2023)
• Question closing date: 19 September 2023
• Project partner interviews: week of 9 October 2023
• Selection of project partner: end of October 2023
• Execution of contract: November 2023

The date for delivery of goods/services is on-going to 30 June 2026.
