This submission demonstrates how approaches to prevent violence against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can strengthen Australia’s adherence to the principles of United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP).

It recommends that, in combination with other legislative and policy actions, the three focus areas outlined in Changing the picture be used to inform the development and implementation of key national strategies, action plans and frameworks.
