December 14, 2021 / Our Watch media

Our Watch is pleased to welcome three new directors to the Senior Executive Team to ensure itis best placed to lead prevention work across the country.

The organisation has appointed Amanda Alford as Director Government Relations, Policy and Impact; Brooke Daly as Director, Marketing and Communications; and Krista Seddon as Director, Innovation.

Ms Alford has a wide range of experience across government and the not-for-profit sector. She was previously a Director at the Australian Human Rights Commission working with Kate Jenkins on the Independent Review into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces. Prior to this, Amanda worked in senior roles at the Disability Royal Commission, Community Legal Centres Australia, and the Australian Law Reform Commission.

Ms Daly has over 16 years of experience growing brands nationally and internationally, including delivering marketing and PR campaigns throughout Europe for Tourism Australia. Most recently she devised and delivered campaigns at SANE, a support service for people with complex mental health needs.

Ms Seddon has extensive senior leadership experience in primary prevention. Her most recent roles include Executive Director, Primary Prevention at Safe and Equal, and Director, Prevention of Violence at DVRCV, where she developed and led state-wide prevention of violence against women strategy through a period of significant change.

Our Watch CEO, Patty Kinnersly said, “I believe these additions to the Senior Executive Team will bring the appropriate blend of skills and experience and will be key to ensuring strong leadership for the future of Our Watch.

“I would like to thank outgoing Director, Marketing and Communications, Siobhan McCann. During her time at Our Watch she worked closely with the Department of Social Services to review Our Watch’s youth campaign, The Line, confirming it was evidence-based and world-leading.

“She also played a role in launching the No Excuse For Abuse and Doing Nothing Does Harm campaigns, championing the digital transformation project and developing the organisation’s fundraising function.”

“I would also like to thank the former Director, Policy and Evaluation, Kim Henderson for her significant contribution to Our Watch.

“Ms Henderson was instrumental in researching and writing the second edition of Change the story.

“She also led the Tracking Progress in Prevention report, consolidated the organisation’s recommendations for the second National Plan, and strengthened our relationships with states and territories to ensure primary prevention was a part of their strategies.

“I wish them the very best for the future.”
