Julia Zemiro is a media personality, actor, presenter and writer.

Having grown up in a home that championed gender equality, Julia Zemiro was shocked to learn about the prevalence of violence against women in Australia.

Since becoming an ambassador for Our Watch in 2016, she has been committed to help ordinary Australians recognise that violence against women affects us all and that we all have a role to play in preventing it.

Julia is based in New South Wales.

As a child, I have such wonderful memories of feeling so safe in my own room and even when the world was terrible, to know you had a safe home to come to was great. That’s what clicked for me. That children aren’t safe in their own own home with their Mum and the threat of a violent Dad – it made an impression.
