Although Charlie came from a family where violence against women was never present, he recognises the platform he has been given as a writer and television presenter to be able to challenge the sexist attitudes that society often tolerates.
Charlie is passionate about using his voice to empower the community to challenge the idea that women are seen as less deserving of respect or opportunity than men and challenge men’s need for power and control.
Charlie is based in Victoria.
Go out and read the stories of women, listen to the stories of women. If you’ve got kids, get books where the main character is doing something in the world. Not a girl that’s a princess being saved by a man. Read stories about women and tell those stories to yourself and share those stories with your friends and they will make the world more equitable.
