Senior Communications Advisor - Online

Our Watch is a national not-for-profit established in 2013 to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children.

Funding for programs and campaigns for the next financial year has been confirmed and an opportunity now exists to be a part of the Our Watch Media & Communications team. This team is responsible for engaging people in action to prevent violence against women through marketing campaigns, media engagement and corporate communications.   

The Media and Communications team is looking for a Senior Communications Advisor – Online to communicate the organisation’s work across a range of digital channels and engage the community in action to prevent violence against women and their children. 

Reporting to the Manager, Media & Communications and working as part of cross-functional project teams, you will be responsible for developing content for Our Watch’s corporate and campaign social media channels, managing moderation and audience engagement, and developing social media plans for organisational projects. You will also maintain and improve the Our Watch website and provide strategic social media advice and expertise to the organisation.  

A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field and extensive experience in coordinating online and social media activities across an organisation are essential for this role.  Demonstrated experience in online communication techniques, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and excellent written communication skills are needed to successfully perform this role.   

This is a Fixed term full-time position to 30 June 2019.
