Today, the Chair of Our Watch, Natasha Stott Despoja AM welcomed Patty to the role.

"I am proud our organisation will be led by a sector specialist who has strong CEO and management experience and delighted that Patty will lead Our Watch into its next phase of development."

"Our new CEO will build on the tremendous work of our current CEO Mary Barry, who has led our organisation during a pivotal period of growth and development. Our Watch has been well served by capable and visionary leaders in our first five years and we are excited about this next phase."

"We have undergone a robust and comprehensive process to find the right candidate for this position," Ms Stott Despoja added.

"We were very impressed with the calibre of external candidates presented to the Board, but Patty's comprehensive sector experience and knowledge made her the perfect choice at this time of significant change in the sector where we are at the forefront of prevention of violence work."

Patty Kinnersly has held Board positions at Rural Northwest Health Victoria and Child and Family Services, Ballarat (Victoria) and is a current Board member of Ballarat Health Services and the Australian Women's Health Network National Board. Patty said she was honoured and excited to accept the role of CEO at Our Watch.

"I am passionately and unashamedly committed to the work we do in this sector to end violence against women and their children," she said.

Patty will commence her CEO duties on 1st June.
